The Law

There are some people who have come to believe that if they don’t get back to their Jewish roots they miss the boat. Of course I am talking about those who aren’t Jewish. But people who want to get back to the law and make sure that it’s the only way to salvation.

A conversation went on for a good period of time and I was given verses that showed how the law had to be followed to be in the will of God. I explained that we were not to push the Law aside because Jesus said He came to fulfill the Law not change it.

That did no good because apparently I still missed the point. And the Law was given as the only answer. My response was very simple. Jesus came and paid the price on the cross because we are incapable of being good enough to satisfy the Law. It was only through Him that we are able to receive God’s grace.

Conclusion: my comments were deleted because of my answer. I was not aware that some who came to Yeshua hate Jesus. Really blew my mind.

Here’s what this is all about If you think your going to make “points” with God because you all of a sudden become legalistic then you have missed the reason Jesus came in the first place. If you think you can be good enough to get to heaven you don’t understand that if it were true… Jesus wouldn’t have had to die on the cross for you.

Pure and simple fact your a sinner just like everyone else, you are condemned because you were born in sin. You can’t fix that by yourself, you must go through Jesus alone. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Many people try to twist that or change it and allow for any other means, but the truth is their liars and if you follow their lead, it will lead you directly into damnation.

“O you legalists who are looking to yourselves for some arguments
with which to prevail with God! O you who look to your sacraments,
to your outward forms, to your pious deeds and your almsgiving
for something that will move the heart of God–know this, that
these things are no lever that can ever move Him to love!
Nothing but your sin and misery can ever stir His mercy!
And you look to the wrong place when you look to your merits
to find a plea why he should show pity upon you!” Charles Spurgeon

The Velveteen Rabbit

When I was much younger I worked in a free clinic. The clinic did drug counseling, medical clinic once a week. and so much more.

The Karma Clinic Everett, Wa no longer exists but it was a very big part of my life. Edna Davert the founder will always be a huge influence in my life, along with many of the other people who worked there.

This was posted on the wall when you walked in. It’s from the children’s book.. God bless

The Velveteen Rabbit

“What is real?” Asked the rabbit one day.
“Does it mean having things inside you and a stick-out handle? “Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse.

“It’s a thing that happens to you, when a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but Really loves you, then you become real.
“Does it hurt?” Asked the rabbit.
“Sometimes”, said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful.
“When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.”
“Does it happen all at once, like being wound up?” he asked, or bit by bit?”
“It doesn’t happen all at once, said the Skin Horse.
“You become, it takes a long time.
That’s why it doesn’t happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or have to be carefully kept.

Generally, by the time you are real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.

But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are real, you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”

Jesus the High Priest

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

There is a lot more to this than it would appear on the surface.

Muslims would argue that Jesus is just a messenger [Prophet] and He did not really die on the cross. But that He only swooned and spent the time in the grave healing, or that it was someone else like Judas that somehow the crowd was made to believe was Jesus. They say that because He said My God it means He is not God Himself. But that ignores the trinity. Which is a separate issue. One man keeps insisting that somehow the remark Jesus made about Jonah being in the belly of the fish for 3 days proves He did not really die. Although the real similarity is that it was a 3 day period for each is the only significance.

The Lord not really dieing makes a kind of sense if you refuse to accept that the Lord was sacrificed for the sins of the world and that His sacrifice was the only acceptable payment. I am going to look at the passage above and show why it puts to sleep the notion that He did not really die.

In Biblical times when the blood sacrifices were being done by the priests of Israel, they did different kinds. from daily to once a year by the High Priest as an atonement for all of Israel. But on that one special day the High Priest was allowed to go into the Holy of Holies. They would tie a rope around one ankle with a bell attached. If the High Priest displeased God, he could be killed. They would know because the bell would stop making noise. Then the other priests would pull his body out by the rope. Because only the High Priest was allowed in the Holy of Holies. This does not mean that God would kill someone for no reason, the High Priest would have had to do something very seriously wrong.

The High Priest would bring in the special sacrifice and present it to God. The other part of this is that if it had been touched it would not be presentable to God because it would be defiled. And they would have to do another sacrifice. If Jesus’ blood had not been shed then it means the whole argument is over. But the fact that there were many witnesses to His death and over 500 to His resurrection, that argument is without merit.

Well here’s where the verse above comes in. Jesus was the Lamb of God, He became the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sins of mankind. When Mary came upon Him she naturally wanted to touch Him and be comforted. But Jesus said I have not yet ascended to My Father which means He had not yet presented the blood sacrifice in the true Holy of Holies.

This shows two things. First Jesus had to have actually died and also when He said it is finished, that was the end to all arguments and all sacrifices.

The other thing not covered is the part where He is called high priest in the order of Melchizedek. Melchizedek King of Salem. There is a Salem near Scythopolis in the tribe of Ephraim, near to which John baptized (John 3:23, where it is called Salim), and Jerome mentions that some local ruins there were said to be the remains of Melchizedek’s palace. The typical value of Melehizedek’s priesthood lies not merely in his being “king of righteousness and king of peace,” but even more in his priesthood being universal, limited by no external ordinances, and attached to no particular race or people. Moreover, he is a king-priest (Psalms 110), and by taking precedence of Abram. and blessing him, and receiving from him tithes, he became the representative of a higher priesthood more than any that could spring from Abram’s loins. Jesus was not a descendant of Aaron, and thus would not qualify for the Jewish priesthood under the Law of Moses. His priesthood is so much higher. Hebrews chapter 5, and then again at the end of chapter 6, telling us that Jesus “has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

This does not take away from the fact that Jesus is also God. John was very clear that Jesus is also called the “Word of God” John 1:1-3. The phrase, “Word of God,” is used for both the Bible and the person of Jesus the Christ.

Thirteen Heresies in the Shack

By Michael Youssef Ph.D

Below are the points made in the book and then the biblical answer. [me]

1. God the Father was crucified with Jesus.
Because God’s eyes are pure and cannot look upon sin, the Bible says that God would not look upon His own beloved Son as He hung on the Cross, carrying our sins (Habakkuk 1:13; Matthew 27:45).

2. God is limited by His love and cannot practice justice.
The Bible declares that God’s love and His justice are two sides of the same coin — equally a part of the personality and the character of God (Isaiah 61:8; Hosea 2:19).

3. On the Cross, God forgave all of humanity, whether they repent or not. Some choose a relationship with Him, but He forgives them all regardless.
Jesus explained that only those who come to Him will be saved (John 14:6).

4. Hierarchical structures, whether they are in the Church or in the government, are evil.
Our God is a God of order (Job 25:2).

5. God will never judge people for their sins.
The Word of God repeatedly invites people to escape from the judgment of God by believing in Jesus Christ, His Son (Romans 2:16; 2 Timothy 4:1-3).

6. There is not a hierarchical structure in the Godhead, just a circle of unity.
The Bible says that Jesus submitted to the will of the Father. This doesn’t mean that one Person is higher or better than the other; just unique. Jesus said, “I came to do the will of Him who sent me. I am here to obey my Father.” Jesus also said, “I will send you the Holy Spirit” (John 4:34, 6:44, 14:26, 15:26).

7. God submits to human wishes and choices.
Far from God submitting to us, Jesus said, “Narrow is the way that leads to eternal life.” We are to submit to Him in all things, for His glory and because of what He has accomplished for us (Matthew 7:13-15).

8. Justice will never take place because of love.
The Bible teaches that when God’s love is rejected, and when the offer of salvation and forgiveness is rejected, justice must take place or God has sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross for nothing (Matthew 12:20; Romans 3:25-26).

9. There is no such a thing as eternal judgment or torment in hell.
Jesus’ own description of hell is vivid … it cannot be denied (Luke 12:5, 16:23).

10. Jesus is walking with all people in their different journeys to God, and it doesn’t matter which way you get to Him.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one will come to the Father but by me” (John 14:6).

11. Jesus is constantly being transformed along with us.
Jesus, who dwells in the splendor of heaven, sits at the right hand of God, reigning and ruling the universe. The Bible says, “In Him there is no change, for He is yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 11:12, 13:8; James 1:17).

12. There is no need for faith or reconciliation with God because everyone will make it to heaven.
Jesus said, “Only those who believe in me will have eternal life” (John 3:15, 3:36, 5:24, 6:40).

13. The Bible is not true because it reduces God to paper.
The Bible is God-breathed. Sure, there were many men through 1,800 years who put pen to paper (so to speak), each from different professions and different backgrounds, but the Holy Spirit infused their work with God’s words. These men were writing the same message from Genesis to Revelation. If you want to read more about the place of Christ in the Scripture, read “We Preach Christ” (2 Timothy 3:16).

Religious Freedom

Our Country {US} has gone from basically being a Christian based Nation, to quickly becoming a Nation of anything else. The pilgrims came here for a lot of reasons, but one of the main ones was religious freedom.

They wanted to have a way to worship, without being told what to believe. Meaning that they didn’t want the State to control which form of Christianity they chose. Nor did they want the State to control how we worshiped, like in England, Italy, France, etc.

When the U.S. was first founded, the Founding Fathers gave us a constitution, which was passed into law to provide for our rights. It was done to secure them, so that the Government or the Courts couldn’t take certain freedoms from us. They are supposed to be guaranteed.

This freedom was also guaranteed to people of other faiths, even those who believe in the Religion of Evolution, or those who didn’t have a belief in any religion.

The Constitution guaranteed freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

But, somewhere between then and now, somebody came up with the idea of the “Separation Clause”, which doesn’t exist !!! But, our Supreme Court has agreed with this non-existent part of our Constitution.

Update: Since I wrote this, schools across the US have been teaching about Islam. This is under a program called Common Core backed by CAIR an Islamic Jihad front disguised as being peaceful.

Some decisions:

Freedoms of speech and press are guaranteed to students and teachers, unless the topic is religious, at which time such becomes unconstitutional.

If a student prays over their lunch, it is unconstitutional to pray out loud.

It is unconstitutional to teach Creation Science [creationism].

If posted copies of the Ten Commandments are to have any effect at all, it will be to induce the school children to read, meditate upon, perhaps to venerate and obey the commandments. This is not a permissible State Objective under the establishment clause.

“In 1980 The Supreme Court considered the Ten Commandments irrelevant in today’s society.” Daniel Johnson

So, instead of promoting morals among our youth in our society today. We see the blatant increase of Greed, Lust, Murder, Theft, etc. Anything that promotes godlessness.

Recently I was watching the TV show – Fighting for America. He reported that in 2007, seven Christians where arrested and convicted of disorderly conduct. Their crime was praying silently in a park, during a Gay Pride rally. [This show is no longer on the air].

How in the name of the Holy God can people in this country be arrested for praying silently? Have we lost all sense? If this blatant abuse of our rights as citizens of this nation are continualy eroded, Do you think that some day you can’t be arrested for telling someone that there’s only one way to salvation? Or worse yet, Jesus loves you.

Now here’s my take on this: What you do is your business, unless what you do harms another person against their will. Anything concerning Murder, Adultry, Homosexuality, Arson, Kidnapping, Abortion, etc, are covered in the Bible, you can make your own decission about these issues. Im not talking about the law, just His position.

Please don’t contact me too tell me your stand on this subject. If you disagree, take it up with God, He wrote the book.

“Satan’s subjects will always despise our King, twist His truth, and hate His people, Why should we not expect opposition?” Author unknown to me.

Weather your a christian or not, if we don’t stand up and be heard about issues like this or freedom of speach. One day [very soon], we’ll be no different than China, or any other nation that tries to control every aspect of peoples lives. If you love this country you have to take a stand, it’s too late to just sit by and let someone else do it. Evil people in our nation are trying to control too many of our rights.

ONE LAST THOUGHT: IF YOUR A PUBLIC OFFICIAL IN ANY CAPACITY; SANITATION ENGINEER, CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, MAYOR, JUDGE, ATTORNEY GENERAL, GOVERNOR, MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH, PRESIDENT OF THE U.S., MEMBER OF THE APPEALS COURT OR U.S. SUPREME COURT, WHATEVER. IF YOU SWORE AN OATH TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, AND YOU STAND BY AND DO NOTHING WHILE OUR RIGHTS ARE BEING TAKEN AWAY. Shame on you!

To my fellow Americans if you continue to put these people in office, and someday your arrested and convicted for not joining a certain party. Or daring to vote the wrong way. Remember we allowed this to happen. Then who do you seek when it turly is in your face?

* This story wasn’t covered in the mainstream press

Six people peacefully protested the Obama administration’s mandate requiring employers to provide contraceptives, sterilization, and abortion-producing drugs by kneeling in prayer in front of the White House, and they quickly were arrested and whisked away by U.S. Park police.

Since I wrote this over 5 years ago, the Supreme Court has made a ruling that homosexual marriage is legal in every state.

The President [Barak Obama] has publicly declared that if he disagrees with the Constitution, he will ignore it and write Executive orders.

The Congress of the United States for the most part refuses to stand up for whats right.

Islam is no different in the aspect that during the Dark Ages the Catholic Church forced people to accept their domination.

People were put in prison, beat, burned at the stake and so much more. Many people were killed for just putting the Bible

into other languages.

It should also be noted that in the Common Core program they are introducing children to Islam.

Learning the 5 pillars, etc. You should know that religious freedom is different for Christians because it’s acceptable

to hate us. Where almost any other religion is acceptable.

People need to learn the truth about Islam and why it’s so dangerous to religious freedom everywhere.

Spiritual gift of Prophecy

from the Institute in Basic Life Principles

Prophecy: A Spiritual Gift

A Christian’s motivational spiritual gift represents what God does in him to shape his perspective on life and motivate his words and actions. Romans 12:3–8 describes “basic motivations,” which are characterized by inherent qualities or abilities within a believer—the Creator’s unique workmanship in him or her.

Through the motivational gifts, God makes believers aware of needs that He wants to meet through them, for His glory. Then, believers can minister to others through the ministry and manifestation gifts of the Spirit, in ways beyond mere human capability and ingenuity, with maximum effectiveness and minimum weariness.

Each person’s behavior will vary according to factors such as temperament, background, age, gender, culture, and circumstances. However, it is not unusual for individuals who share the same motivational gift to demonstrate common characteristics. Below are some general characteristics that are typically exhibited by those who have the motivational gift of prophecy.

General Characteristics

A prophet’s basic motivational drive is to apply the Word of God to a situation so that sin is exposed and relationships are restored. Prophets might be considered the “trumpets” of the Body of Christ who sound the alarm in the face of sin and compromise.

A prophet calls attention to sin and wrong attitudes.

The prophet is passionate about exposing sin, but not primarily so that sinners can be punished. Rather, he is passionate about exposing sin so that truth can be revealed and fellowship with God can be restored.

A prophet has a God-given ability to sense when compromises are being made, and his nature demands that action be taken—something must be done. This action may take the form of an overt protest or confrontation, or it may take the form of a conversation or correspondence.

For a prophet, any solution that involves compromise is unacceptable.

For the prophet, to observe or discern sin and say nothing is, of itself, sin. Naturally, knowing that a prophet has this perspective tends to make some of us feel intimidated or uncomfortable around them—even when we are guiltless! The prophet’s abhorrence of sin can easily be viewed as a judgmental spirit, and no one wants to be the object of that judgment.

The prophet often displays the spiritual gift of discerning of spirits; he is able to discern true motives as the Holy Spirit gives him divine insights. As a general rule, the prophet is more interested in whether or not the heart is pure than whether or not the activity in question is acceptable.

Prophets are usually outspoken, sometimes brash; they tell it like it is.

They tend to see issues as “black or white,” not “gray.”

A Prophet’s Strengths

A prophet is confident in his use of Scripture, because he regards Scripture as the only source of truth.
A mature prophet easily discerns hypocrisy, because God has gifted him to discern Truth.

He is usually more teachable than others, especially when discipline or correction is required. When a wise prophet is confronted with his sin, he sees it as God sees it and consequently is crushed (if he is walking in the Spirit and not in the flesh).

The prophet accepts absolutes easily. The rest of us try to explain them away; prophets simply take God at His Word.
He is not easily swayed by emotions.

A prophet has a deep capacity to trust God, based on what God has promised. This is the prophet’s attitude: “If it’s right, do it. Trust God for the outcome—it’s His responsibility.”

A Prophet’s Weaknesses

A prophet’s need to be “painfully truthful” may result in insensitivity or harshness.

Prophets often have little sympathy and patience with people who do not respond objectively.

A prophet’s sense of conviction may tempt him or her to become intolerant or prideful.

Because of the prophet’s deep consciousness of sin, he sometimes seems to have a negative, “gloomy” approach to life.

An Eternal Decision

Matthew
The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign

16 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

In those days and today some people want to be entertained [given a sign]. The religious leaders of that day wanted to see a magic trick. Show us and we will believe, problem is they would have turned it into saying it was just a trick. Sadly there are those who still think their smarter than God. As you probably know that will never happen. The being who created everything in the universe including man. The one who determines all science is never surprised. He is so powerful He even knows our thoughts.

Mark 3;20 Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” 22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.” This is what prompted Jesus to say 28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— 30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.” The Septuagint renders the name as Baalzebub (βααλζεβούβ) and as Baal muian (βααλ μυιαν, “Baal of flies”). However Symmachus the Ebionite may have reflected a tradition of its offensive ancient name when he rendered it as Beelzebou * Beelzebub was the Lord of the flies. A cult formed because someone noticed that flies would land on feces. Larvae (maggots) hatch from the eggs, and a fly is born. Somehow they got the idea that is where life came from. It turned into worship of the Lord of the flies.

My plea: In my mind and millions of other peoples. Jesus is the very essence of God who came to Earth while making Himself a little lower than the Angels, taught us the way to relate to the Father. Showed the world the things promised in the Old Testament and finally gave His life as ransom for the sins of everyone who was born and who will be born.

The only thing we can do is meet Him at the foot of the cross, repent and seek His forgiveness. Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; If you reject Jesus your calling the Holy Spirit [God] a liar.
