The Object of our Worship

Dave Hunt

“Christmas, with its emphasis upon baby Jesus, tends to perpetuate another serious Catholic heresy: the pernicious myth of Christís subservience to His mother which Roman Catholicism has deliberately promoted for centuries. Mary certainly should be called blessed as the mother of our Lord but she is not Co-Mediatrix and Co-Redemp…trix as Romanism teaches. In Catholic cathedrals throughout the world, for example, one quickly notices that the paintings, statuary and stained glass give Mary the dominant role. She is even at times shown on the cross as our Redeemer. Jesus is either a helpless babe on His mothers breast, a small child between her knees, or a lifeless victim of the Cross in her arms. Never is she in subjection to Him, and rarely if ever is He shown in the triumph of His resurrection. She is the Queen of Heaven, where Jesus remains a child subject to her direction.

Typical is the beautiful thirteenth century stained-glass window we recently observed in a church in France. At the top are the words Le Pergatoire, indicating that it is a depiction of purgatory. Mary and Jesus are shown on a cloud (i.e., in heaven), with the tormented souls in the flames of purgatory below them, arms extended upward in supplication. Are they crying out to Christ for help? No, they are appealing to Mary. She wears the regal crown.

And Jesus, the Lord of Glory, who triumphed over Satan at the Cross and now sits at the right hand of the Father how is He depicted? As a child about seven years old, standing between the Queen of Heavenís knees! No wonder the souls in ìpurgatory do not appeal to Him for help. At the bottom of the beautiful stained-glass depiction of this abomination are the words: MËre Marie, sauvez nous! (Mother Mary, save us!)

Such heresy does not originate in the imaginations of the artists but in tradition and dogma not only tolerated but promoted by the Roman Catholic Church. The fear of purgatory is very real to a Catholic, and Mary has provided an escape for those faithful to her. She allegedly appeared to St. Simon Stock on July 16, 1251 and gave him what is known as The Great Promise: Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular [two pieces of brown cloth containing Mary’s promise on one, her picture with Baby Jesus on the other, worn one in front, one in back, connected over the shoulder by two strings] shall not suffer eternal fire. Like the Mormonís magic underwear, the Catholics scapular will supposedly accomplish what the death, burial and resurrection of Christ could not. In 1322, Pope John XXII received a further promise from Mary known as ìThe Sabbatine Privilege: ìI, the Mother of Grace, shall descend on the Saturday after their death and whomsoever I shall find in Purgatory [who died wearing the scapular], I shall free. St. Simon Stockís famous prayer ends thus: O Sweet Heart of Mary, be our salvation!

Christmas offers a rare opportunity to share the true gospel of Jesus Christ and to expose and correct the ecumenical and confused picture it presents annually to the world. Millions are seduced into thinking they are Christians because they have a sentimental feeling for the baby Jesus. Let us remember what Christ said to those who believed on Him: If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (Jn 8:31-32). It is that truth which we are called upon to proclaim in clarity and power.”

The truth of the Cross is that only through the Blood of Christ can a person be saved. God bless

Jesus

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic, on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg, or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis

In what Christians call the Old Testament there are 16 prophecies that point to Jesus [Yeshua, Isa in Islam].

There are many things written about him in all the books of the Bible, lets take a look at what was told about his coming and life.

1. Seed of Woman; Genesis Chapter 3
2. Born in Bethlehem; Michah 5
3. The time of his coming; Daniel 9
4. To be born of a virgin; Isaiah 7
5. Slaughter of the innocents; Jeremiah 31
6. Ascension to the Father’s right hand; Psalm 68
7. Flight to Egypt; Hosea 11
8. Declared the Son of God; Psalm 2
9. Galilean ministry; Isaiah 9
10. A prophet; Deuteronomy 18
11. To heal the broken hearted; Isaiah 61
12. Rejected by his own people; Isaiah 53
13. Triumphal entry; Zechariah 9
14. Betrayed by a friend; Psalm 41
15. Sold for 30 pieces of silver; Psalm 41
16. Accused by false witnesses; Psalm 35

The odds of just 7 of these things being fulfilled by one person is about 1 in 10 to the 17th power. If you read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. You’ll find that he fulfilled all of them.

According to Dr. David R. Reagan of Lamb and Lion Ministries;
He fulfilled more than one hundred distinctively different, specific prophecies about the Messiah’s First Advent.

“The claim of resurrection is vital to Christianity.
If Christ has been raised from the dead by God, then he has the credentials and certification that no other religious leader possesses. Buddha is dead. Muhammad is dead. Moses is dead. Confucius is dead. But, according to Christianity, Christ is alive.” R.C. Sproul

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:1-3 Unlike some will tell you, the word, Word means Jesus. It’s not a different being or a Spirit of some kind.

“The plainest reason why the Son of God is called the Word, seems to be, that as our words explain our minds to others, so was the Son of God sent in order to reveal his Father’s mind to the world. What the evangelist says of Christ proves that he is God. He asserts, His existence in the beginning; His coexistence with the Father. The Word was with God. All things were made by him, and not as an instrument. Without him was not any thing made that was made, from the highest angel to the meanest worm. This shows how well qualified he was for the work of our redemption and salvation.

The light of reason, as well as the life of sense, is derived from him, and depends upon him. This eternal Word, this true Light shines, but the darkness comprehends it not. Let us pray without ceasing, that our eyes may be opened to behold this Light, that we may walk in it; and thus be made wise unto salvation, by faith in Jesus Christ.” Matthew Henry

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, There will be no end. Upon the thrown of David and over His Kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice. from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Isaiah 9:6-7

“Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4

In the passages above Paul is telling us that Christ was the one who spoke to Moses. The God of the Old Testament is Jesus in the New Testament! Lets look at what else has been said about Jesus. “God replied to Moses, I Am Who I Am. Say to this to the people of Israel, I Am has sent me to you. God also said to moses, Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors- the God of Abraham, the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob-has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.” Exodus 3:14-15

“Are you greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the Prophets.
Who do you think you are? Jesus answered. If I want glory for myself, it doesn’t count. but it is my Father who will glorify me. You say. He is our God, but you don’t even know Him. I know Him. If I said otherwise, I would be as great a liar as you! But I do know and obey Him. Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad. The people said, You aren’t even fifty years old. How can you say you have seen Abraham? Jesus answered, I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I Am.” [Yahweh] John 8:53-58

“By the word of the Lord [Shema] the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” Psalm 33:6
“Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded; and it stood fast.” Psalm 33:8-9; John 1:1-3

“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb; I Am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone; Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself.” Isaiah 44:24

“For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.” 1 Chronicles 16:25-26
“Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? Jesus said, I Am.[Yahweh] And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Mark 14:61b-62

“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Evan so, Amen. I Am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, Says the Lord, who is and was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:7-8

“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood; and these three agree as one. 1 John 5:7-8

THE CONFLICT OF THE CHRIST

“Think of Christ correctly. Take Him out of the man class. Put Him in the God class. He never had a beginning. He is an eternal being. Associate yourself with Him and you will become a recipient of the same eternal life that we saw manifested in during the days of His flesh. He was born into this life for a purpose.

We saw at Bethlehem was the consummation of that plan, the materialization of the original conception in the mind of the Infinite. Jesus Christ did not come to reform but to transform. Not to repair but to replace. Not to save us from wrong-doing but to save us from wrong-being. He came to bring life. The natural man is dead in trespasses and sin. He said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The personality of Jesus Christ is the hub, the great central fact of all Scripture. Both the Old and New Testaments and are woven around His majestic personality. He was born in a supernatural way. He lived in poverty. He grew up in obscurity. He had no wealth. He attended no college. Yet the profoundest wisdom of men has never equaled His discourses.

The record says: “Never man spake like this man.” He associated with sinners. He ate with publicans. In fact, one had to be a sinner to attract His attention. He said: “The Son of man is come to seek and to save, that which was lost.” He has power to transform human lives. He specializes in making bad people good. That is the greatest of all miracles, transforming sinners into saints. He never mobilized an army, drafted a soldier, or fired a gun. Yet no military leader has ever enlisted as many volunteers as those who take orders from Him. Great men have come and gone. He lives on.

Herod could not kill Him. People at a religious service could not stone Him. Satan could not tempt Him. Death could not destroy Him. The grave could not contain Him. Demons obeyed Him. He fed a hungry multitude with the lunch of a small boy. He broke up funerals. He gave life back to those who were dead. He said: I am the resurrection and the life.” He conquered death. He rose on the third day as He had previously announced. He ascended into heaven. He sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high. He is the perfect One. He is the chief among ten thousands. He alone can satisfy the soul and give everlasting life to those who will accept. He is altogether lovely.”
Dr. Gerald B. Winrod

“This most beautiful system of Sun, Planets, Comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being”… “This being governs all things, not as the Soul of the world, but as L’ord over all; and on account of His dominion He is wont to be called L’ord God.” Sir Issac Newton

“You cannot receive what Jesus gives and refuse who Jesus is.” “We can’t confess Him as Lord and serve any other master.” Dr. Adrian Rogers

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

In the book of Luke chapter 1, verses 31-33 there are six promises concerning Jesus. The first three have been fulfilled.
The last three are yet to happen.

1. You will conceive a son.
2. He will be called Jesus.
3. He will be called the Son of the Highest.
4. The Lord God will give Him the thrown of His father David.
5. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever.
6. Of His kingdom there will be no end.

Discernment

There are many people giving their opinions about a certain aspects of the Christian walk. I was listening to a man he was spouting some nonsense that had very little to do with God’s word. At least in the way God means it.

Although he was using Scripture to make his plea for something, when I read the Scripture it turned out that he had used the verse to say something it didn’t mean, {and yes I know that is a shock}.That of course happens when we see people who call themselves teachers, pastors, evangelist, etc. But their agenda is different than what the Lord’s truth is.

If a person tells you to plant a seed for instance… many times in todays Church they are telling you something that is in exact opposite of what God wants from you. When He said I want to bless you, He didn’t say send me money to get my blessings. He said live as I would have you live, etc. Planting a seed in many ministries today is from the prosperity gospel, and has very little to do with God’s plan.

I came to this conclusion; if someone says something as if their speaking for God you should do two things.

1. If they quote Scripture… Verify that it really says what their saying. You can’t just take a verse and make it doctrine, you have to verify it with the bible itself to make sure that verse means what the person is saying. It is easy enough to go to the verse and at least read the chapter it is in and see what the author is really saying.
2. If a teacher is telling you something about you’re walk with Christ… Please verify that it agrees with Scripture!
If someone tells you about a subject and it contradicts Gods word and thy are bringing Leaven into the Church. Even a little twist brings corruption and eventually can grow. The most prominent idea associated with leaven is in connection with the corruption of God’s people or His Church. If I preach to you a gospel of prosperity then eventually people can accept that if you give a dollar amount. This is a tactic used by many false teachers.

Discernment is the process of making careful distinctions in our thinking about truth. In other words, the ability to think with discernment is synonymous with an ability to think biblically. God will never tell you something that contradicts whats in His word. A little leaven will infect the whole batch of dough. The same is true in the church, a little twist of scripture can open the door for more false teaching.

Sola Fidei Regula
The bible is the only authoritative voice of God

In essence if someone tells you something that goes against the Word of God
That person is a liar. So no matter how good it sounds, make sure it is in the Word.

Again: Remember The Holy Spirit will not tell someone something that He hasn’t already said. And He certainly won’t contradict Himself.

I usually run when I hear someone say “God told me” This makes it hard to question because that person brings God into it and then you have to be careful about ‘challenging God’. And believe it or not most people who say that are counting on it. You don’t have to say “God told” me because if it agrees with Scripture, it’s already in there!

I have said this many times Discernment is a precious gift from God.
Discernment is given through prayer and study. You may have the gift, but you must do it God’s way. Or else your just fooling yourself. It is given to His Church for a reason… we have been warned from the very beginning that false teachers and pastors would be in amongst us.

If a person starts to bring other teachings into the Christian doctrine we must be aware of it. If a Christian teacher tells you that God has opened a new way and that you can have a closer walk with Him, if you let your spirit guide you, that person weather knowing it or not is opening the way for Hindu teaching in the church. Spirit guides, as their called are known in the bible as Familiar Spirits. They in essence are demons. Demons have one agenda…it is to bring strange things into the church so that it will fail. Then we have a lot of people happy in their destruction thinking they are pleasing God. When in essence they are doing something God hates.

If you fall for all this stuff your putting yourself and anyone you bring along into grave danger.
Please get a commentary and first and foremost pray. You need to arm yourselves against destructive teachings.

The difference between a Socialist and a Conservative

Fascism: The government orders you to give the fruits of your labor to others. If you refuse, the government arrests you.

Communism: The government takes the fruits of your labor and gives it to others. If you refuse, the government arrest you.

Socialism: The government POLITELY takes the fruits of your labor and gives it to others. If you refuse the government arrests you.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM: At the request of 51% of the voters, the government POLITELY takes the fruits of your labor and gives it to others. If you refuse, the government arrests you.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM – like Fascism, Communism, and Socialism – are all rooted in envy and rely on force. In Summary, they are all EVIL.

A Socialist and a Conservative were walking together down the street. When they came across a homeless man.

The Conservative gave the homeless man his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20.00 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless man.

The Socialist saw this, so when they came to another homeless man, he walked over to the homeless man and gave him directions to the Welfare Office. He then reached into the Conservatives pocket and took out $20.00. He kept $15.00 for “administrative fees” and gave the homeless man $5.00.

NOW DO YOU UNDERSTAND ?

I copied this and changed it a little.

Semiramus

Semiramus

The Goddess Columbia warrior goddess. Or Liberty as she is also known has existed in many cultures, including classical examples dating from the Roman Empire to those representing national symbols such as the American Columbia and its Statue of Liberty, All of it started in Babylon and is one of the many names used to worship Semiramis who was Nimrods wife and eventually known as the Queen of Heaven.

In Egypt, as the “queen of heaven” she was the greatest and most worshiped of all the divinities. During Egyptian bondage, the Israelites repeatedly departed from the one true invisible Elohim and worshiped the pagan mother. When the Israelites fell into apostasy under King Solomon, they worshiped this mother goddess as Ashtaroth (Asherah), a name by which the pagan Babylonian goddess was known to the Israelites:

Legend has it that after Semiramis died, after Semiramis died, she ascended into heaven and was returned to earth inside a large egg which fell into the Euphrates river. The egg was pushed ashore by a dove and she emerged from the egg as Astarte or Ishtar (in English, Easter). To show her gratitude to the dove, she turned it into an egg-laying rabbit, all signs of fertility. Another sign or symbol found throughout Babylonia is the obelisk, a phallic symbol. These can also be seen in Egypt, Rome and Washington DC. The obelisk in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican was dragged up to Rome from Egypt.

Roman and Greek names:
Goddess of Hunting & Childbirth * Diana — Artemis
Goddess of Crafts, War & Wisdom * Minerva — Athena
Goddess of Growing Things * Ceres — Demeter
Symbol of the Fertile Earth * Terra — Gaea
Protector of Marriage & Women * Juno — Hera
Goddess of the Hearth * Vesta — Hestia
Wife and Sister of Kronos * Ops — Rhea

Nike in ancient Greek religion, was a goddess who personified victory, also known as the Winged Goddess of Victory. The Roman equivalent was Victoria.

THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORD SELAH IN THE BIBLE

by Geoffrey Grider

from Now The End Begins

The Bible mentions that there will come a time known as the “time of Jacob’s trouble”, and it is a very fierce and ominous period of human history. The word selah appears exactly 75 times in the King James Bible, and nearly every time it does it is in the context of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation.

SELAH PETRA IS A REAL PLACE THAT EXISTS TODAY, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY THE WORD ‘SELAH’ IN THE BIBLE IS ACTUALLY A PROPHECY TIME CLUE

“It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.” Psalm 89:37 (KJV)

Like most people, I am sure that you have been taught that the word ‘selah’ in the bible meant that God wanted you to ‘pause and meditate’ at the sections in scripture where the word appears. Pausing and meditating on God’s word is always a good thing to do, but having said that, there is so much more to the word ‘selah’ than pausing and meditating. The word selah appears exactly 75 times in the King James Bible, and nearly every time it does it is in the context of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation.

For starters, Selah is an actual, literal place that still exists to this day. We read about the geographic location of Selah in 2 Kings 14:

“He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day. “ 2 Kings 14:7 (KJV)

So the verse in 2 Kings 14 shows us first and foremost that Selah is a place that existed then and exists now. We call it today the rock walled city of Petra, located in Jordan. Selah (Sela) is also mentioned multiple times in the book of Isaiah:

“Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion. For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest,so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.” Isaiah 16:1,2 (KJV)

“Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.” Isaiah 42:11 (KJV)

What’s fascinating about the passage in Isaiah 42:11 is that it refers to the people of Selah as the “inhabitants of the rock”. Obadiah also mentions a civilization that lives in the rocks in the Land of Edom. Selah Petra was the capital of Edom:

“The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle. Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised. The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?” Obadiah 1:1-3 (KJV)

There are many, many more references I could give for showing that Selah (Sela) is an actual geographic location, but I will trust that these will be sufficient. Now that we have established that Selah is an actual place from history past, let’s look and see if the bible gives reference to the city of Selah Petra being inhabited and used in a future, prophetical way.

THE JEWS IN THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE – THE GREAT TRIBULATION!

The Bible mentions that there will come a time known as the “time of Jacob’s trouble”, and it is a very fierce and ominous period of human history. In the 30th chapter of the book of Jeremiah, the Lord is giving prophecy about a time yet future when the Jews would be regathered into their land, Israel, but it would not be a time of peace. In fact, it would be just the opposite.

“The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:1-5,7 (KJV)

We know this ‘time of Jacob’s trouble’ to be what the New Testament refers to as the Great Tribulation. The time in which the Antichrist will visibly rule, and his main target will the people of Jacob who became Israel – the Jews.

GOD PREPARES A HIDING PLACE

God has promised that once the Jews were restored that they would never again be driven out. But the onslaught that the Antichrist whips up against them is so fierce and so terrible that God moves them out of the way, He hides them, in a place where Satan cannot get them. Jesus tells us to pay close attention to the prophet Daniel for a whoppingly important clue…and here it is:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” Matthew 24:15-22 (KJV)

“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.” Luke 21:20-23 (KJV)

We who take the bible literally can clearly see that during the Great Tribulation, the Jews of necessity will be forced to temporarily flee to 1) a place in the wilderness, that is also in 2). the mountains.

THE BOOK OF REVELATION SHEDS EVEN MORE LIGHT ON THE ‘FLIGHT’ THAT GOD WILL CAUSE THE JEWS TO TAKE TO GET AWAY FROM THE ANTICHRIST:

“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:14-17 (KJV)

So we see that the believing Jews will be flown into a pre-prepared place in the wilderness for a ‘time, times and half a time’, or three and one-half years as foretold by the prophet Daniel. We believe that in this red rock city of Selah Petra is where God will hide the Jews while the Antichrist installs himself in the rebuilt Temple as if he was very God himself.

WARNING: THE NIV BIBLE REMOVES THE WORD COMPLETELY – IN THE KING JAMES 1611 AUTHORIZED VERSION HOLY BIBLE, THE WORD SELAH APPEARS EXACTLY 75 TIMES, AND AS WE ARE SHOWING YOU HERE IT IS A PHENOMENAL PROPHECY CLUE AS TO THE NATURE AND CHARACTER OF THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST. BUT THE NIV REMOVES ALL 75 PLACES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT WHERE THE WORD APPEARS, REPLACING IT WITH NOTHING. JUST SIMPLY ERASED IT! NOW, SINCE THE WORD SELAH REVEALS SO MUCH ABOUT THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS, WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WANT THE WORD REMOVED AND HIDE ALL THAT INFORMATION FROM YOU?

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.” Luke 21:20-23 (KJV)

selah-petra-red-rock-city-jordan
In the ancient world, the rock walled city of Petra was commonly referred to by it’s full name of Selah, Petra. This steel engraving of the Ruinen von Selah Petra (the Ruins of Selah Petra) 1850, by Laborde is a great example of that.

SELAH AS A CLUE TO THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST

We have thus far shown that instead of being a signal to “pause and meditate’, that the word Selah in the bible is 1). an actual, literal, historical place that still exists today, and 2). it is the likely hiding place of the Jews in the Tribulation due to the many descriptive clues given it from scripture. Now we will attempt to tie it all together with a little-taught insight as to the placement of the word Selah in the bible.

The placement of the word Selah in the bible brings to light precious new insight as to events that will be going on during the Great Tribulation, and offers a tantalizing connection between Selah Petra and the believing Jews when they flee to hide from Antichrist. It goes like this:

ANYWHERE YOU FIND THE WORD SELAH IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, YOU WILL FIND, NEARLY ALWAYS, EITHER IN THE FEW VERSES ABOVE IT OR BELOW IT, A REFERENCE TO THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST AT THE END OF THE TRIBULATION.

For example, in Psalm 24, we find the word Selah twice:

“This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.” Psalm 24:6 (KJV)

“Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.” Psalm 24:10 (KJV)

And all through this passage we see direct references to the Second Coming:

“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.” Psalm 24:8,9 (KJV)

Moving on to Psalm 46, we see it again:

“The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46:11 (KJV)

“The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.” Psalm 46:6 (KJV)

It doesn’t matter where you look, the word Selah is almost always associated together and found with direct, overt references to the Second Coming of Jesus. And it is the opinion of this author that that is exactly why the Lord placed the word Selah where He placed it. So that as we, the generation of the last days, saw these things approaching, we would have renewed confidence that everything in God’s word could be trusted totally and completely.

THINK ABOUT THIS AS WE CONCLUDE:

• Jesus is called the Rock, Selah Petra means rock in Hebrew (Selah), and Greek (Petra). The bible was first written in Hebrew (OT), and in Greek (NT).

• Jesus shed blood, which pays for our sins and covers us, is red. Petra is a red, rock city of refuge. The Lord is both a rock AND a fortress – “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:2 (KJV) As you read the rest of Psalm 18, you find reference after reference to God being the ‘rock’, the ‘refuge’, setting His people on ‘high places’, ‘leaping over walls’, etc.

• Petra is located next to the city of Wadi Musa, which means the ‘Valley of Moses’. The Jews fled by Moses out of Egypt in the Old Testament the same way that the Jews in the Tribulation will flee to Petra. And just as God supernaturally parted the Red Sea (there’s that word ‘red’ again!), God will supernaturally keep the Jews safe and protected in Petra.

• Petra is at the entrance to the land of Edom. The prophet Daniel says that when the Antichrist appears, he will devour all the areas around Israel, except for Edom where Petra is. “He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.” Daniel 11:41 (KJV)

• In Isaiah 16, we see the Lord’s ‘outcasts’ hiding in the land of Moab right before He returns at the end of the Tribulation to set up His 1,000 year reign. “Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion. For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest,so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth. Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land. And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.” Isaiah 16:1-5 (KJV)

• “Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.” Zephaniah 2:3 (KJV)

• “Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save..” Isaiah 63:1 (KJV)

COULD IT BE THAT WHEN JESUS RETURNS TO SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THE ANTICHRIST, THAT HE WILL STOP AT PETRA, WHICH IS BOZRAH, AND BRING HIS PEOPLE HOME?

Remember the Old Testament saints that where waiting in Abraham’s Bosom for Jesus to come and get them and bring them home? Jesus went down there and preached to those who were not getting out, sealing their doom, and then preached to the ones in Abraham’s Bosom and took them with Him to Glory. We believe that at His Second Coming, Jesus will stop at Selah Petra with us, His Church, on horseback, wipe out the rebellion, ‘dying His garments red’ in their blood, and then release those hiding in the rocks and take them with Him to Glory on earth for His 1,000 Year Reign of peace on this earth.

These verses from Revelation 19 show us the Day when we, the blood-washed, born again Church and Body of Jesus Christ, will return with Him on white horses to rescue His people the Jews and to fight the Battle of Armageddon:

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.” Revelation 19:11-14 (KJV)

Soon and very soon…keep looking up!

Lost Innocence

I watched a little bit of a children’s program. The theme was about violence and all the other horrible things being done in the world today.

They had children put on a skit about a child that had been killed in a drive by shooting. And how much pain it caused in so many lives. How there didn’t seem to be an answer for the state of the world. Always asking why, and proclaiming how we needed to change things.

They spent time giving answers as to why these things happen; education, poverty and many other reasons. What a wonderful world this would be if we could just get along. If we taught our children love for their fellow man. All the answers sounded very good. I was really impressed with the logic used, except for the facts.

First we have kicked God out of our schools, prayer is considered a waste of time or a violation of someone else’s rights. Respect for elders or society in general is considered stupid. I have rights to do what I want. IE follow Satan, have sexual education at 5, disrespect teachers because after all I’m the only one who is important.

Laugh at anyone who teaches that morals are a good thing. Look at how many of the actors and Liberals in Hollywood produce material that shows us not to have respect for our country because we are just trying to take over the world. Or many of our very own elected officials ignore the Constitution on a daily basis, and judges who legislate from the bench, instead of following the law.

There is so much more to this that it would take a week to list it all. But I do have an answer.

The people in this nation who really just talk about God and having respect for Him are just in reality just pushing Him away. This is so prevalent that it’s rotting our nation from the inside. We were at one time a Christian based nation, but the truth is that Jesus is not so important any longer. And yes I know that their are many great Christians here. But that is not the issue.

We have done our best to outlaw the 10 commandments, to kick God out of everywhere including many churches of Christ. To spit in the face of morality that when our children ask why are all these bad things happening we can’t answer them, because nobody knows what sin is anymore. If you make everything legal, nothing is sacred!

America we had better get back to the roots of what this country was founded on or we are not going to be here much longer. God’s judgment is coming and the only thing that might save us is falling on our face before the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob and asking for His mercy.

If you continue to give your children over to false god’s you will suffer the same fate as Israel did in the past. America has been moving away from God because some people along the way have convinced others that there was a better way.

An added note: President Kennedy worked to put men on the moon. President Obama is working to put men in girls bathrooms.

Yes, and look how much better it is!
